Word Corrupted Attachments

I can also now confirm this still happens with Word 2011. It's only .doc files, .docx are fine and cause no problems. Powerpoint and Excel are also fine. Can someone from IBM please comment on this, its a major issue and having to save .doc file to the file system and then open them is a real pain. I cannot believe that no one in IBM has seen this problem.
